To all you boot wearin cowboys and plowboys

If you're like me and wear cowboy boots, bet you've scuffed the paint intering your JK where a nice seal plate SHOULD be. I can't think of a single car/truck that didn't come with seal plates at the base of the door opening. Was into old cars for a while and 50's and 60's rides had em from the factory. I ordered these from Mopar and they match the bottom of the door panel perfect. I know all of our Jeep's are gonna get nicks and scratches but I don't care for opening my door and seeing a bunch of missing paint. I know there's alot of aftermarket seal plates out there but these look like they came on the dang thing.

I have not noticed a problem at all i guess its just how i get in.
I just grab the wheel and put my foot in the driver floorboard, i never touch that part of the jeep.

They look good though!

Yes, but there's just something about him. Something around the eyes, I don't know, reminds me of... me. No. I'm sure of it, I hate him.

Got on one of those Wii Fittness boards the other day at a friends. That thing told me I favored my right side while reading my posture. Hell, mabe its just me. Anyways, got tired of waxing out black marks off the paint. Put these on there before I had a nasty wear pattern going on. Mabe I should have invested this money in a doctor's appt. LOL

I'm not big on bling but these are another option. Brushed Stainless. They've been on for over a year and still look great.

I like the brushed stainless. It matches the Mag-Lite very well. BTW. Do you use that for spotlighting or self defence?

Gotta love the bottle opener flip-flops

I too get all kinds of rubber/plastic marks from my shoes on the body just above my rock rails.

I bought some sill plates but they only cover the highest part of the body that you step over and a little bit of the horizontal outer portion.

To cover the vertical part on the outside of the jeep, I bought some clear protectant film. The 3M stuff that protects headlights and hoods from stone chips is really expensive and you have to buy a bunch and it sounds like it is not a DIY install. I went with something cheaper that seemed similar.

I'll make it official once I've installed it all.

These wouldn't work for me. It keeps the door from sealing well against the door opening. I occasionally go through water deeper than the door sills.

I've had the plastic ones on my jeep for three years or so. I think I got them on ebay for 20 bucks.

I too go through water over the sills and have had zero leakage with the stainless ones.

I will have to get those for our Jeeps when it's time to sell them.

Seriously, I don't have nearly the scratching problem that we did with our TJ's--because the door lip stuck up about 6 inches on the older Jeeps. In fact, after becoming accustomed to JK's, whenever I try to get out of a TJ now, I almost fall flat on my face when my foot catches!

You should see my old ranch truck--years of wearing boots with spurs in and out have left an arch of paintless gouged metal under the door.

Thanks for the post--those do look nice. I think we should start an inflammatory thread about how crossing water can be hazardous to your Jeep.

Mines all scuffed off. Been meaning to tape it off and hit it with some rattle-can bedliner.

Those look really good.

On my TJ I had the whole interior Rhino lined to match the carpet color. We had them spray on a kick plate in the door area. Held up GREAT!!!

This picture was taken when I went to sell the Jeep. The kick plate had been there for about 8 years.

I had those for a little while. They are really nice and work well until you get into water and mud. They definitely help water get in if your going through a deep puddle. They also held tons of sand and mud underneath them which made a big mess for me. If you stay away from the deep water and mud you'll be fine but I had to rip mine out and throw them away.

That's an awsome look. Wouldn't mind Rhino lining my JK and getting rid of the thin carpet.
