Tube Fenders Here I Come

Finally got the ok from the better half to put my order in for some tube fender flares. I've looked em over & I'm going to go with the River Raider Factory Width units. Going to put in my order today. They look the best to me. Seem to have the best fitment and look on the JK.

I'll get back to you with some pics when I get em & get em installed.

Yeah, looked at those & the M.O.R.E., and the Warriors, and several others. It looks like PS only has the fronts available & the rest are even boxier. I'd kinda like to get a set of 4 that match, so RR is going to get my business. Is it the right choice? I certainly hope so! The price is up there, but it looks like the quality is up there also. We'll find out.

Thanks for the opinion though!

PSC doesn't have the rears on their website yet but they are definitely available. They match the body lines perfectly. So for any others reading this thread know that there really is a difference between the brands, not just that they're all made of steel.

PSC fronts....

09 Unlimited Rubicon Flame Red
~8.5" TeraFlex LCG Long Arm
~41x14.50 Interco IROK Radials
~20x10 RBP-93R wheels with red inserts

~Posion Spyder Crusher flares, Rock Brawler Bumper, Rocker Knockers w/sliders and Hawse fairlead
~Warn 9.5ti Winch w/synthetic line
~Rhino Lining tub
~Katzkin interior
~10lb Powertank & VIAR Xtreme

Thanks for the info JPTwinz! Do you have a set of the rears? If so, do you have them installed and some pics? Are those the ones in the first picture? Kinda hard to see to get a good idea. I agree that the fronts look fabulous! Would like to see some shots of the rears, if anyone has some.

Thanks for the info!

Guess you would be the one to ask about the availability and price for a set of the PSC rear flares. Are they available? If so, how soon could I get some?

You're right about the lines being perfect. They do look great! And thanks to you I'm now the proud parent of a full set of PSC fender flares. And I can pick them up only 100 miles from my house. No shipping!

My PSC rears came in earlier this week and look great (thanks for the smokin pre-order deal PSC!).

I ran a bead along the seam as I did with the fronts, POR-15'd the inside area where moisture could collect (between the tube and the skin), resanded everything, etch primed and fill primed. They are hanging now... In the morning, they get sanded, then painted black and cleared to match the fronts.

I had originally wanted to color match them (red rock) and bought a ppg product. The match wasnt even close; paint guy tried tweeking the tint and just couldnt get it. If can find an accurate match down the road, I may blast these and re-do them...

pics come after install... tomorrow evening most likely.

Best, Jon

Twisted, nice to see you made a great decision! The PSC install is very easy and straight forward. Don't try to install the rubber gasket the first time around. Mount everything up to make sure you have the holes drilled properly and that things align the way you want. Use a few bolts to hold them in place then put the gaskets in.

Richie, that's why you should have gone with a flame red Jeep Nearly every powdercoater carries blood red which is a near perfect match.

I personally still like RR's narrow flares myself. From all the pictures that I have seen, his flares do follow the body lines where it meets with the body and is boxier on the outside but I like that look. I also like that RR's fronts taper down from front to back so that it doesn't look like that back of the flare sticks out further then the front of the flare. Anyway those are still #1 on my list of flares to buy but there are others things that I want first before buying flares.
