100,000 Mile Question

Here is my question, I am coming up on 100,000 miles on the Jeep. Mostly stock, 2007 Unlimited. I'd rather not have any surprises.

I am really looking to make a checklist of things to look for and replace/repair before it becomes a problem.

So what known issues should I be looking for?

Some you can check/replace are plugs, air filter, power steering fluid, brake fluid, coolant hoses and belt, then maybe flush the radiator. Also change the trans and front/rear axle fluids.

I found the checklist in the owner's manual very helpful.
For the 2007, it lists things to look at up to 150,000 miles.

You may want to consider replacing the water pump and thermostat while the coolant is out. They are not expensive and not too difficult to swap out. An $8 thermostat can leave you stranded on the side of the road.

^^^ What all they said, and maybe throw in a new fuel filter + check all suspension link joints/bushings, wheel bearings, u-joints, and critical fasteners.

Give it a good reach-around once in a while, and it will be less resentful when you give it a pounding (that sounds dirty, for some reason )

EDIT: Oh, and check or replace your PCV valve if you never have, before your engine starts sucking down oil like dollar beers.
