Rules say if its not mentioned in the rules, its not allowed.

Under engine there's nothing about forced induction. Are superchargers allowed? Engine is otherwise stock, but supercharged with a readily available kit from magnuson. Any insight?

Very interesting. I desert raced dirt bikes, ATVs, and side by sides for thirty years off and on. Thanks for posting this thread; I often wondered about the rules for the "stock" Jeep class. My JK has Dynatrac axles, so I skimmed through the 1700 class rules on your link, and found that axle mods are "open". But maximum track width that is allowed is 75.5". The narrowest Dana 60s you can get has a wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface width of 68.5". That will give you a track width of 80.5", with 8.5" wide wheels that have 4.5" backspacing, used with a 12.50 width tire. So, any JK with Dana 60s is out for the 1700 class. They would have to compete in the 3700 class, which has a maximum width of 87", ... and allows a lot of other mods as well.

2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon; 35s - no lift, Warn 9.5 XP-S, ARB Twin Air, SPOD
2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk (wife's Jeep)
2016 Ram Laramie 3500 Megacab 4x4; 6.7 CTD, Aisen, AEV Prospector conversion; 37s, 4.10s, Warn 16.5K

Too bad you don't allow BFGoodrich Tires. I would be all over this if you did and have a few other friends that would also.

Thanks for the questions.
WE did our homework on width issue with JKs and WKs..If you take a second look at 1700 Stock Rules you will see that we allow stock width at wheel mount surfaces on all models that exceed 75.5". This rule with a 12.50 tire on a race wheel give you about 83".
The 3750 and 3700 classes allow 87" to outside of tire.

Regarding tires General are handing out 4 new tires to each new team. You can use your BFGs as pit spares.

Please ask more questions as we have time to address any issues we have missed. Thanks.

The other point regarding tires is that General and other sponsors are subsidizing your entry fees and paying prize money. Example this year the Mint 400 costs other classes over $2000 to enter but Jeepspeed was only $800. Those savings 3 times a year adds up to a lot of support to buy more tires , etc.

Yesterday a meeting with some key Jeepspeed players came up with an intermediate Class 3750 for Jeeps too modified for Class 1700 but not as wild as 3700 Open Class. Many current JK weekend warroirs could fit into this new class.

Currently Jeepspeed has two classes;Class 1700. Jeepspeed Challenge for 4.0 liter 6 cylinder short wheel base production based Jeeps with 10" front suspension travel and 12" rear travel and max. tire dia. 33"
Class 3700. Jeepspeed Cup for Jeeps and Dodge trucks with longer wheelbase and major modifications, 15" front wheel travel, unlimited rear wheel travel, and 37" max. tire dia.

Today the progression from Class 1700 to 3700 is a major leap probably needing construction of a completely new race vehicle.

Jeepspeed is exploring the possibilty of an intermediate class where a 1700 Jeep could be modified, or a new race vehicle constructed, with a more affordable budget. This intermediate class would address the inclusion of 116' wb four door Wranglers, lwb Comanche trucks, V8 engines in 1700 type Jeeps and modifying leaf sprung Jeeps to coils.

Proposed - not definite- intermediate class rules.
- Vehicles must conform to basic Class 3700 rules for vehicle models and dimensions.
- Wheel travel limited to 12 " and 14" rear.
- One shock per wheel. Max 3" dia. Bypass or 4"dia smooth body.
- Max tire dia 35"
- Steering as per Class 1700 4.1.3.10 Original type steering box or rack and pinion must be used but may be modified and must be mounted in stock location using the stock mounting holes; however the mounting area may be strengthened by adding material. Steering quickener box may be added and steering shaft modified or replaced as necessary. Steering components (tie rods, tie rod ends, pitman arm, track bars etc.) are open. The steering system must remain stock concept OF tie rod and drag link (i.e. no remote steering, bell cranks, etc.). Power steering pump and reservoir is open, and fluid coolers and filters may be installed. I.F.S. models must use stock rack and pinion steering. King pin steering is not permitted on straight axles . Ram assist is allowed
- Engine must be the one delivered in the vehicle, or one that is available from any production Jeep or Dodge SUV or truck excluding SRT variants. Must use clear unleaded gas max 100 octane.
- Fuel injection must be as delivered with that engine including original intake manifold and throttle body which may be port sized and polished.
- Approved aftermarket ECU and ignition systems allowed with a retail price under $2900 as per Class 1700 rule 4.1.5.6.
- No forced induction permitted unless on original Dodge or Jeep deisel engines
- Transmissions and transfer cases must be production Jeep or Dodge truck or SUV.
- Vehicles over 117" showroom wb that originally came with leaf springs must retain leaf spring. e.g. Full size Dodge trucks
- Vehicles under 117" showroom wb may convert leaf springs to coils e.g Cherokee XJ.
- Front coil over shock aftermarket kits permitted. Rear coil over shock kits only permitted on vehicles with wb 117" or under. Must use coil over kits from Jeepspeed approved vendors.
- Front and rear suspension must be same basic design and concept as originally produced and installed on the chassis to which it is mounted.
- Body rules as per Class 3700 but driver and front passenger doors must be operational.
- Chassis. Stock frame ( or unibody frame section) must be retained but may be notched 8" at front of frame for ground or component clearance as long as the top plane of the frame remains intact. Stock frame must retain stock longitudal dimension.

Championship points details.
- All 3700 and 3750 vehicles will race heads up for money and points. New numbers may be required with some existing team.
- BITD will treat this as one class and issue results and points.
- The leading 3750 team will receive bonus cash award and trophy at each event and year end.

The 3750 class sounds like a good idea. Just a basic JK with Dana 60s couldn't compete in the 1700 class, but would be under equipped to compete in the 3700 class. The 3750 class sounds like the class most of us would be able to enter.

John (Impulse Off Road), you should be all over this. They'll even give you a set of General tires to compete with. Finish my Jeep first though,

Thanks for the comments. In 1700 class the axles are open.( Dana 60s, 44s, Ford 9", etc) So you can use anything as long as the wheel mounting surfaces are stock width. So a 2door will fit 1700 but a 4 door would be 3750 due to long wheelbase.
