Are these rims gonna suck?

Hey all!

I bought this JK with these rims and tires already on...

I'm OK with the Toyo Tires even though they are on 18" rims and I'd prefer 17" ones...but my question is with these rims for wheelin'

The rims are RockStar XD something and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna mess 'em up wheeling trails like the Rubicon...

They have these big fingers and bolts going up to the rim edge and it looks like they would get chewed up pretty easy by rocks.

Anybody have these rims and use 'em off road in the rocks? I plan to upgrade to some new 37" tires on 17" rims but not for a couple years...

I don't really care if they get messed up, but it seems pointless to ruin 'em if I call just sell 'em off to someone that likes them.

What are you thoughts?

Keep 'em and bash 'em up?

or Sell 'em and get some other 18" rims that I would just have to sell later when I go to 17's

other than the fact that you will chew the crap out of them on the rocks if you really start to wheel your rig, they will be fine.

Me.... I would sell them while they are still nice and get something else, like some cheap steels, or whatever your preference is.

There's nothing wrong with them, other then tires will be expensive in that size. You will probably want to go down to 16" if you plan on heavy off-roading. Tires will be much cheaper.

If you are really going to wheel the couple of hard spots on the Rubicon it will eat those wheels up. Otherwise you can do the bypass and the trail is pretty easy.
