Wrangler "Retro Renegade"

Ok this is pretty cool. The actual colors are iffy but regardless, I think its a good idea, and looks better than most of the Mopar "special editions" they have been cranking out lately. Also not a fan of chrome, but it fits the retro theme well. I'd like to see the tan dye they talk about as well as other colors. Black interiors and black tops are getting boring since all JK's look the same. At least the older Jeeps had many options with different colors.

Seat covers need to be darker along with the top.

The only thing missing is...

a few gallons of gas and a lighter !! reminds me of the YJ islander Edition, but far worse !!

With that said. It is without a doubt that I will soon be seeing that identical Jeep all over my area !

I'm pretty objective when it comes to stuff like this. I know a lot of people won't like it. I don't even really like this exact example but I like the idea of it. I've toyed with the idea of an "islander" or "renegade" vintage type decal set on my Jeep before. I mainly like the idea that these guys are doing something different and voiding the interior of strictly black everything. I hope to see other Jeeps done up like this. Flame red with a tan top and tan padding/seats would be a classic Jeep look. The new Mopar concept at EJS was black with red roll bar padding and it looked pretty damn cool.

How about this "special edition" Gem I saw on my local craigs list today !!!

I'm all for personalizing your Jeep and making it yours, but like that retro job.... there is a reason you are the one who thought of it !

I don't hate that either. Good for him for being original and I hope he gets his price. Kinda high for 07 but you never know

Retro

Mopar did a surprisingly good job capturing the look on the Retro Renegade. I just wish they'd bring back the dark green with tan top and interior.

An owner on the jk forum did put older style Renegade decals on his Jeep, but used a better color combination.

I like that black Jeep a lot. I'm pretty sure he posts here (or used to). I think he is a vendor.

American Motors Corp

From age 3 until age 10 my father had an AMC JEEP dealership in Princeton West Virginia. I really have Jeep in my blood. My favorite of all time will forever be the golden eagle cj-7. The renegade was a close second. I'm on my 7th Jeep. My 07 jku takes me back to my childhood wheeling with my dad everytime that I look at it. I am not a fan of chrome. I would like to see a company revamp the old packages that were once available on our legendary jeeps. I do think that renegade package is on the right track but not quite there yet.

Everything comes full circle. I plan on putting some of the classic 72-73 Renegade decals on my hood along with the black insert for the JK. I think that it will look good on a Crush Orange 2 door. After that I plan on running some 15" classic styled wheels, 35's, small CJ style bumpers, and one of the plastic flat fender designs.
