So I got the postcard in the mail the other day about it being time for my lifetime warranty 5 year check, so I went and made the appointment to bring my jeep in and check out the ensuing circus.
After about an hour or two I get a phone call from the service dept with a nice little laundry list of things that needed to be dealt with and figured you guys would get a kick out of it.
Transmission Service $199.95
Transfer Case Service $149.95
Coolant Service $119.95
Front Pinion Seal $144.95
Front Driveshaft $879.00
I seem to remember seeing something about the coolant being good for 100K miles, and Im at 67k, not a huge deal as the thought to flush my system before going to jeep beach this year has already made my to do list. The front pinion seal was news to me, but I already know about the small tear in my driveshaft boot. They also mentioned servicing the diffs but after I told them I did that at 50k they were cool with it.
As far as the warranty goes they said the motor was good to go, but there may be issues with covering the tranny due to the lift changing the angle of the driveshaft. My initial thought was ehh no big deal, the jeep is paid off in 2 months, and then the saving for an LS swap begins so there goes the engine and tranny anyway.
Once the gf gets back from crossfit with my jeep Ill try and throw up a pic of the warranty checksheet. There was a comment about the diff covers that I thought was a little comical. And for the record there is no way in hell Im letting them do any of the quoted work. Id give away my EBR before I let any dealer assclown work on my jeep, and there is no way in hell I could live with myself for paying those kinda prices.
