Looking into 2014 Willy Wheelers W

Good afternoon,

So I think I have finally made a decision on which unlimited to get. I am looking into the 2014 Wrangler Unlimited Willys Wheelers W in either Granite or White. My question is does "Jeep Command-Trac 4x4 part-time two-speed transfer case with a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio" mean its AWD? The dopey salesperson was trying to tell me so. Was he correct?

Thanks Sorry if this is a dumb first post

If your question is about if it's full time AWD, then I'm going to go with No. The Part Time is stating that the 4WD system is designed to be used in situations that call for it, i.e. off road, but should remain in 2WD on the street. It's the same system that you'd find on the Sport, Sahara, etc. It's a pretty straightforward 4WD system.

There's a pretty good video that explains the whole system on the Jeep website.

The JK has a 4WD system where the front and rear diffs are locked together via the transfer case

AWD refers to a system that uses a third center differential between front and rear diffs
