DAMMITT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I finally get back into a Jeep after having been forced to drive my daughter's civic for several months. I let my daughter drive it for the weekend while I am out on TDY and the night before I return it catches fire while she is on her way back to the house. FML
Everyone is fine and she sacrificed her shirt to put the fire out as opposed to getting in trouble (which she was not at all). I find out that the engine bay is torched, though not bad enough to melt the hood liner, and the inside is flooded with foam and muddy water.... Great now its back to hunting for a new Jeep....
So much for the last Jeep I will purchase...Guess I wont be selling that hard top anytime soon now.

Blame it on the Skycraper lift.

But seriously, sorry to hear yet glad your daughter is okay. Any idea of the cause?

Sounds like it's time for a 4BT conversion.

Based on what I have been told (cause I am still out of town) is the fuel line was rubbing near the the transmission, it ruptured and started burning. My daughter says the flames went about halfway up the door and they scrambled to put it out. The fire dept said it was just waiting to happen. The pic my wife sent me shows a blue connector attaching two fuel lines that are torched on each end. I cant upload the pic right now. I'll have a little more information tomorrow night once I get a chance to look it.
DiscoBayJoe you're the second person who has said that to me today and I cannot help but laugh.
I would blame the skyjacker lift but I'm reasonably certain there was nothing near there that would have caused it. Oh well back to Jeep shopping just 3 months after I got this one....
