2009 JKR locker activation question

Hello,
Im new here and to JKs but not to Jeeps. My Rubi is new to me but has 32,000kms on it. I sold my TJ to buy this unit.

After playing with the controls for the lockers it seems that when shifting into 4L, locking both front and rear, the Rubi will crawl along (as it should)

But as soon as you touch the gas pedal the front locker light will begin to flash which i assume means it is unlocking. Otherwise both locker lights will stay solid and crawl along all day long. So as long as you are crawling with no throttle, everything is fine. As soon as you give her some gas to accelerate a bit the front light flashes.

Is this normal? Some sort of safety feature thats built into the rigs computers?

Also, does anyone know why you cant lock the diffs in 4H?

Thanks very much.

The ECU won't let you lock the lockers in 4H, only 4low.

It sounds like the front locker is disengaging for some reason. As long as you are in 4-low and under ~20mph, the lockers should stay locked [solid light]. I don't think it'll let you be locked and drive faster than that.

Could be im going over the speed and its unlocking? But in 1st gear and 4L i can walk faster... giving her a little gas shouldnt take me over 30km!

Ill look into it a little more.

When you give it some gas, and the front locker light starts blinking, is it accompanied by any clicking or chattering up front? You may even have to listen out the open window to hear it if it's doing it.

is the front locker actually unlocking or is the light just blinking?

You may have an issue with the the connection to the plunger or the plunger itself in the dif.

this may help

No noises but then again i didnt even think to listen. Ill try it a few more times and see what the story is. I have read that lack of use of the lockers makes them "sticky". Possibly after a few attemps it will clear up. Ill update as i know more.

I bought a great big warranty with the Jeep so if there are any issues it will go to Dodge for the work.

Thanks so much guys!
