head lights stay on, after lock. kill it.

have 08 JK, sold 02 . (05 M/T 4wd) stock.
the 08 has this silly headlamp stay on trick. (i key off , get out , lock car and bam. headlamps come one...

i have no evic's option.
how can i set the delay to zero. i already turned off the "Lock makes blink and horn", annoyance.

just one more fix, and im good.
thanks for any help.

on a 2008 I think the dealer has to change a setting with the starscan tool. Not sure how new you are to your Jeep but on mine, if I turn the headlights off before shutting off the ignition the lights do not stay on. If I shut off the ignition before killing the lights, there is about a 30 second delay before they shut off.

correct - the dealer can set the delay to 0 seconds. i had mine done while in for other warranty work. they didn't charge anything (and shouldn't). i haven't seen this ability on any aftermarket tools, unfortunately. very annoying "feature", especially when camping...

This plus you can cycle the light switch again to on and off and boom just like that they are off.
