Wild Boar Grille

Wild Boar claims an increased air flow to the radiator.
It appears the slots are wider but shorter. It also appears the lower half of the "spoiler" may direct some air downwards towards the slots.
I doubt it makes that much difference but more is better, right? When you start blocking flow with mesh/screen and/or winch, wouldn't every little bit help before you have to turn on the heater? (Not really a big deal as I've not heard of anyone having overheating issues that this mild increase in flow would remedy, so, just a thought).

They also claim better aerodynamics.
I realize it's like putting a bandaid on an incised jugular but 1mpg might break even over a couple years.

The grille gets a love/hate response(as does the company) for aesthetics, and some say it has to be on the right Jeep. To that, I remind you of the various loved/hated hoods on the market.

Can anyone verify the aero claim?
I'm more concerned about an answer to this.

I kinda like the look and think it could work well, aesthetically, with the right bumper/fender/hood combination, but it's not on the short list.

A Jeep without seven slots is like a woman without a vagina.

Cost of it will never equal the obviously miniscule ( if any) mpg saving.

If you like the look then buy it, but if you're trying to justify your purchase in terms of it paying for itself in fuel savings, then dream on.

Um, it has seven slots.

1mpg may have been a liberal estimate but it would work out within a couple years given 15k annual mileage.

Sometimes the smallest of adjustments increases efficiency. Isn't that the reasoning behind the difference in bodies between older and newer JKs? Not noticeable unless side by side but...

I don't think I'm looking to justify a purchase but I'm not all that introspective. If I get one and it helps mileage, bonus! If someone can verify a mileage increase, that would be a contributing factor in any decision I make.

To add to the topic, has anyone noticed any MPG increase with the installation of a fastback from any MFG?

And they always deliver on time too!

LMAO at tiltz and ALASHA... but crying inside because of the truth!

I didn't see any increase in mileage with the Wild Boar Fastback hardtop but it seems to be less "pitchy" in the wind.

I got that grill after I messed up the stock. I think it looks freakin great on the jeep.
It gets a lot of attention. Got no idea if it is beneficial but don't care. If you like the look, just get it.

Just need thick skin around here. We all mean well though.

However there's other forums for the thin skinned folk who need their hand held around.

Ahh... that grill that makes the Jeep look irritated. Now I'm up to speed. I still doubt any significant increase in mpg, but doesn't look too bad on black JK's imo.

Out front, color prolly has a lot to do with whether it "fits". Behind stuff, it looks like ass.

I had mine installed March 2013 and I enjoy the looks. No functional help at all.

Only issue I had was it being damaged when it was shipped. I sent the 1st one back and the 2nd also a little damaged but I was able to work with it.

I added the Poison Spyder emblem myself since my bumpers, diff and brackets are Poison Spyder.

Pics don't do the Cherokee justice, it's not bad...but, as a vehicle, it does no justice to the name.
Of course, the pics might not do the grille justice, either. It could be ten times uglier in real life.

That makes the JK look like a mouth-breathing troglodyte. But, to each their own.

A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.

Dammit... now I feel that this thread won't be complete without a pic of Ms. G. Goyle.
