2010+ Rubicon tires? KM's discontinued...

Anyone have any insight into what Jeep will be putting on the future Rubicons now that BFG KM's are discontinued? I haven't heard a peep about the tires changing, but I assume, as always, change in inevitable...

My vote: Goodyear MT/R's with Kevlar or BFG KM2's...

The photos posted from the factory are showing the bfg km's on the rubicons. The rubicon KM's are different than standard bfg KM's.

For some reason they have the same name?

MTR w/ Kevlar would be cool. I'd think they'd slide right into the KM2's, though. It'd probably make for an easier transition.

I think the MTR's left a bad taste with jeep, lots of customer complaints.

I think the KM in that size is only still made for the Wrangler. Atleast thats what I heard and that is the only size listed on BFGs site for the KM..

Yeah, the old MT/R's sucked. The new ones with Kevlar are, pun intended, bullet-proof! Still haven't lost a single sidewall since January!

And, what is different about the Jeep KM's and the ones you buy retail? I have both and haven't noticed any difference?

Send a message via Yahoo to thaduke2003

You can get the same ones retail. That size has a slightly different compound for the JK's, though, according to Tire Rack and my parts manager- Mark W.

Back in a '94 YJ! Well, after I sink $$$$ into it...

I would take an MT/R over a KM any day.

Not me! I had seen way to many sidewalls lost on the trail over the 46K miles my KM's lasted. The KM2 is a better tire no doubt!

Nena the Rubicon KM is not the same as the retail KM, different tread pattern and better compound which seems similar to the KM2. I have had no complaints over the rubicon KM.

After observing the new MTR Kevlar's performance on several Jeeps when I got 37's to replace my 35's I went with KM2's again. They MTR's may have a good sidewall (as does the KM2) but I think the MTR has less traction. The new MTR is not a bad tire and is better than the old MTR but I think the KM2 is better.
