K&N Performance Cold Air in-take and WHeeling

Has anyone ever used the K&N performance air intake on their JKs while going off-road?

I have a K&N intake on my 09 Rubi and notice it slips off quite easily. What's more, I talked to a 4x4 shop owner yesterday who is the undisputed wheeling guru in our area and he showed me/told me a story about a guy with a lifted 08-2-door rubi where he was wheeling, not even in deep mud, he had hit a small puddle and water/mud got up into the air intake and into the engine and destroyed his engine block. I saw the after math first hand sitting along side of his shop with the rest of the old jeeps in the bone yard. Very depressing. However, up until this point, I've nothing but good things about the K&N systems. just wondering if anyone else has heard this or had experience wheeling with the K&N system.
