engine auto shut off?

I was offroading in my 2007 Unlimtied and I hit a rut and my engine shut off. I was able to turn it back on and back out of it however with no problems. Is there a auto off or did I hit somthing under the jeep to cause this? Thanks

hey welcome to the forum, do you have an 6spd or auto? there is no auto off and nothing you hit per say should cause it to stall

thats pretty much it. shut off as soon as i dropped in. tires were very muddy from the trail, but the rut itself was not too bad

I was taking a hill climb last weekend and struggling through a rough / steep spot, and the engine died every try. I'm glad it was short hill, because had it been a long one it would have sucked with no power and sliding backwards!

There is probably no fix for my situation, but any thoughts?
