Hella's Mounted up near windshield today

Ran by Wal-Mart and they had these open box missing the wiring and such for $35! I have enough wiring to do a car anyway so thats no worry. I put my H3 HIDs in there, they seem to be okay, it's a pretty designated pencil style light. But thats alright, we'll see how it does when it gets dark out. Plus you can't beat matching light covers!

Very nice! You mounted them directly onto the windshield frame without a bracket?

Yep, saved myself $30. Using the stock bolts and brackets that came with the hellas. They work out just fine on the trail, dead ahead and adjustable every direction

With the HID bulbs in them they are extremely bright. Atleast as bright as the four 150w 6" lights i had on the front of my ranger (halogen). i can't wait to get three 8" lights and put HIDs in them once i build a bumper. Talk about bright!

Nice lights.

I had originally installed my Hella's to the windshield without brackets but eventually bought Rugged Ridge brackets from Quadratec. Moved the light up off the hood and looks better in my opinion.

I have the same lights, but the white covers looked dorky on my black X, so I opted for the clear covers from autobarn.

I had the b/w covers and eventually put these on:

I leave them that way year round.

Thanks, I'm the opposite. I think the brackets make the lights stick out too far into the driver's view. I have zero glare off my hood with these lights, they're working out really well for the location/price. I get a little glare out of the edge of the lens that overhangs the housing, I'll have to come up with a way to cure it, shouldn't be too difficult

I have Hella Rallye 4000 and hate the solid white covers. Where did you find these black ones? Will they fit my lights you think?

Just your basic HID conversion kit of ebay. They are for H3 bulbs and are 5000k rating. Other than that it's pretty basic, the HID kit is $55
