Gold Mountain 5/17/09

Anyone up for a Gold Mountain Run. I just got my 35's and want to try something challenging. I don't know where this is, so someone may have to lead / pitch in. Thanks

I'm running John Bull tomorrow (5/17) with some friends. We're meeting at the Discovery Center in Big Bear around 9:00 am --> leaving for the trail at about 9:30 am.

If you are really set on doing Gold Mtn, I can tell you how to get to the Gold Mtn (3N69) trail while at the Discovery Cetner.

As so_calif_rubi stated, Golf Mtn is off Hwy 18 near Baldwin Lake, before Holcomb Valley Road (the road to the dump/transfer station). Gold Mtn is 3N69. It is only a couple of miles past the LDS Church at the corner of Paradise Way and Hwy 18.

After going up and over Gold Mtn, as stated, turn left on 3N16 and more like 0.9 miles, there is 3N02 which leads right to John Bull.

We do Gold Mtn/John Bull as one run quite a bit also, but this time we're going straight to J.B., and then maybe Dishpan Springs, or, turning around and running J.B. "backwards."
