There is going to be a Johnson Valley run November 19-20. There will be guided runs from moderate to extreme. Will be Hosted by Goatman Gauthier (event formerly known as Goatfest). Since the BLM wants to dip into the pockets of "events", its just been relegated to a bunch of clubs that get together for the purpose of beating up rigs during the day and consuming alcohol at night. All JKOers are more than welcome to join us. Even vendors that can't wait to beat the shit out of their "Pretty" SEMA Jeeps are welcome to wheel with us.
We'll camp on the lakebed, Mean's Dry Lake, at the end of Boone Rd off of Hwy 247. We will be on channel 4 Saturday morning.
There are no facilities or cell reception out there, so bring what you need. It may be the desert, but it gets COLD that time of year at night. A few years ago at this event, we woke up to about 8" of snow outside the tent. There are no trees, so bring as much firewood as you can.
Best wheeling in the country, awesome scenery, and great company. Rumor has it that some stock and mod class KOH cars are going to be there to do some testing on their rigs, that should be interesting to watch.
Edit: Oleg said he is going to show up, so that alone will provide all the off-road entertainment you could ever want. That crazy Russian makes KOH look like a race for wussies.
