JK Experience Challenge in Johnson Valley,*POSTPONED*

December 21, 2010 - For Immediate Release

Off Road Evolution’s JK Experience presented by Falken Tire announces postponement of 2011 JK Experience Challenge.

It is with mixed emotions that the JK Experience regretfully announces the postponement of the JKX Challenge that was scheduled for January 14-15, 2011. We couldn’t be more pleased with the excitement and interest that has been generated for the 2011 JKX Challenge, however, it is because of this amazing response that we have been forced to postpone the JKX Challenge.

The JKX Challenge has been such a Huge Success with sign ups and popularity; we have exceeded the event parameters with the BLM. What this means is, unfortunately we will have to postpone the JKX Challenge until all new permits have been approved for an event of this size, this will take no less than 180 days.

“The bright side… I am choosing to look at postponement in a positive light, said Mel Wade, founder of JK Experience and owner of Off Road Evolution. This event has taken the JK community by surprise. We have over 30 participants, from your everyday weekend warrior to many of your favorite manufacturers and shops from around the country. This is a great event for the Jeep® JK community and this postponement will allow more of your favorite JK manufacturers the opportunity to sign up to be venders; growing the JKX Challenge into something every JK owner will want to attend, in order to see the latest and greatest parts for your favorite vehicle, the Jeep® JK.”

We will continue to keep you updated on the status of our permits and the new date for the JKX Challenge.

All participants that submitted registration paper work for the 2011 JKX Challenge will automatically be registered for the rescheduled event.

We thank you all for your interest and support of the JK Experience and look forward to that excitement and interest building as we move forward with the rescheduling of the JKX Challenge as well as the other two events planned for 2011.

Off Road Evolution’s JK Experience presented by Falken Tire are events that promote and showcase the off-road and on-road capabilities of the Jeep® JK, and in particular the products from the manufacturers that participate and sponsor the events. These events are, by design, intended to be the most demanding and toughest JK only events. A gathering of the top Manufacturers of JK performance parts together with JK enthusiasts.

__________________________________________________ ____
For Immediate Release – November 18, 2010

Off Road Evolution’s JK Experience presented by Falken Tire, announces location and date for the JK Experience Challenge.

Get your driving skills sharpened and your JK’s prepped. The JK Experience Challenge is a one day event designed to test driver skill while conquering some of the toughest off road terrain in North America. Finish this challenge with what you started with, no spare parts and no repairs along the way!

Hard core rock crawling that is going to take every inch of the driver, spotter and Jeep® JK’s ability to reach the top. The JKX Challenge is open to all platforms of the Jeep® JK Wrangler (2-door & 4-door). No matter if you have a basic budget boost or over-the-top race suspension, as long as it's avaible from the aftermarket, we welcome you to "Run what you brung".

Does your JK have what it takes to finish the JKX Challenge? Or better yet, are you willing to test your skills to the extreme?

Date: Saturday, January 15, 2011

Location: Johnson Valley, CA

Course: The 2011 JKX Challenge will be a loop course - starting on Means Dry Lake.

Requirements: All participants must have a '07 - current Jeep® Wrangler JK, 2-door or 4-door.
No competition buggy's and only current available aftermarket parts.
All JK’s will be stripped of tools and spare tires.
All JK’s must pass safety inspection (roll cage, safety belts, etc)

Cost: $0

The Challenge: To finish the event with what you started with – and no repairs along the way. If you are willing to drive with four flats or a failing transmission, then you're still in the game. This challege is a balance of luck, wheeling strategy and basic off road fundamentals.

This is not a timed event or a race, yet a challenge for all Jeep® JK vehicle owners and aftermarket manufacturers of Jeep® JK products. A true test of driver’s skills and vehicle equipment.

Registration: Please email [email protected] for your entry form and complete list of event requirements and rules.

“We’re leveling the playing field and trying to encourage that driving smarter is better,” said Mel Wade, CEO Off Road Evolution and founder of the JK Experience.

“Got one...Bring it on!”

Sponsors, vendors, and manufacturers interested in displaying during the JK Experience Challenge are welcome!!! We will set up base camp Thursday January 13, 2011 at which time any and all parties interested in having a booth area will be able to set up. There is no fee to do so. Please make sure you have a valid sellers permit if you plan to sell retail on location. All sponsors, vendors and manufactures in attendance will sign a waiver of release.

GPS mapping of the course and event location in general will be available December 20th, 2010.

Sounds like fun. Do you have to have an after market roll cage or will the stock crap work?

I wonder which trails Mel plans on hitting. My rig can barely get through the "easy" trails, but sure would be fun to go out there and at least watch, nonetheless.
