Veteran to new england travel, but new to offroading....

Hey everyone -

I just booked a trip to cape cod MA and last time I was there I noticed RVs on the beach at Race Point Beach. I researched an off road permit and plan on purchasing one before I go up there. My question is, does anyone know what a 'guage' and 'board' are? On the off road permit application there are check off points for 'guage', 'board', 'towline', etc. If anyone has any idea i would greatly appreciate the help. Also....my jeep is stock, besides a few interior modifications. Do I need to take any precautions, so to say, to go beach off roading? I know the RVs have to release some tire pressure...Any info on this subject would be priceless. Thanks guys. Sorry if this post is slight unorganized, little on board at this point

anyway

thanks!

I believe that the gauge refers to a tire gauge that goes down to 5 psi, and the board is a jack support board (for sand) 10"x12".

I believe that other requirements are:

4wd vehicle
spare tire
jack
tow rope (14 ft)
folding military shovel

Hope this helps.
