I have been posting this on sites all over the web but here on the JKOwners forum I want to mention that last year we had a new JK owner attend with his 2009 JK with 2900 miles on the odometer! We had several JK's - but perhaps the most impressive were the rigs that Dan McKeag and his crew from Burnsville Off Road brought up and wheeled hard. You have been seeing these rigs in 4 Wheel Drive and Sport Utility Magazine in nearly every issue since last summer and I know that several of them will be at the event and wheeled so that is pretty cool to see. Anyway, here is the info....
During the first 5 years of the event, Crawl 4 The Cure has raised more than $164,000 for Multiple Sclerosis! This year we hope to reach $200,000 and you can be a part it.
Registration is now open for the upcoming 2010 Crawl 4 The Cure in Gilbert, MN. This is a great event for a good cause so please consider coming. All the information and details can be found at our website
What is Crawl 4 The Cure?
Crawl 4 The Cure is a charitable event where offroad vehicle enthusiasts raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Minnesota Chapter. We welcome all makes and models of off-highway vehicles and encourage family and friends to join in. In exchange for collecting a very reasonable amount of donations participants receive:
•3 nights of camping
•2 dinners including a BBQ Friday night and a catered pig roast Saturday
•2 days of guided trail rides
•Raffle tickets for a chance to win awesome door prizes
•Goodie bag with cool stuff from our event sponsors
•An unforgettable weekend of fun and comaraderie with offroading enthusiasts looking to do something that truly makes a difference in the lives of deserving people!
Where Are The Trails?
The Crawl 4 the Cure is held in the town of Gilbert, Minnesota at the Iron Range Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Area, the state’s first public off-road park. The park consists of tight winding trails, large hill climbs, and difficult rock crawling gorges. The park has been used with great success for national events in the last year including Petersen’s 4Wheel & Off-Road’s Ultimate Adventure and a Jeep Jamboree.
The park offers all levels of trails, insuring everyone can have a fun, safe weekend while seeing what their vehicle can do. Whether your 4x4 is stock or highly modified, there is sure to be something for you. All trail rides' difficulty levels and recommended equipment will be clearly marked during check-in.
When Does It Happen?
This annual event takes place the third weekend in July. For 2010 the dates are Thursday, July 15th through Sunday, July 18th 2010 rain or shine!
Check-in takes place on Thursday. Trail Rides are on Friday and Saturday and checkout is on Sunday.
