For anyone who might be going out for the KOH you can see this vehicle near the trail-master tent then go back towards the main tent, I was wowed when I saw the damage,

Rockwells and a massive set up there, I think it had a blown V-8 too, 54" tires.

Look @ the drivers rear tire where it was bent also, this guy is lucky to be alive if so, prayers go out to them.

The rest of the story....

From the transporting Paramedic......
Long story short, these guys just showed up, did a little partyin, went wheelin for the first time on the lake bed hit a couple craders endo and roll @ 75mph.

Passanger didn't have his whole harness on, only lap belt! He was transported and had a couple fractures.

Driver had full harness on and went just to get checked out.

Too bad they took out suck a sick rig.

Yes, but there's just something about him. Something around the eyes, I don't know, reminds me of... me. No. I'm sure of it, I hate him.

That looks it was one WILD ride. With all of the crowds coming out for the race I hope we don't see more of that. Hopefully all of the YAHOOS stay at Glamis this weekend.

Glad to hear no one was killed. A few years ago we had a local from our area killed on the lake bed in much the same fashion.

Wow! Glad he's okay, but I am sure he will be sobered when he sees his rig. There are plenty of places to go fast without worrying about the craters out there--he must not have known the terrain very well? Good cage saved him.

Actually I was told that it was the winning truck in like 06 or 07??

Both driver and pass, were in the trailer the next day and doing fine. the pass said he was sore.

The front engine cage was not designed very well if you ask me or anyone else that really looked at it.

There was no top tie in to structure and that front end got pushed up due to the bump stops hitting the axle pads and just ripped one i believe 1.75" tube and bending another, per side.

He did say they already called and was off to another chassis builder once they get back home. Must be nice...

I watched the whole thing It was awesome. He fired that baby up and hammered it across the lake bed. Hit the first crater and jumped it like a pro. When the came down about 50ft later and launched on his second jump. That was the un recoverable one, the impact was intense. Everyone was fine driver smacked the wheel with the bridge of his nose. We were talking to him until the paramedics arrived. For what it went through it was a real tough truck.

If he was aiming down the sights correctly and had plenty of practice rounds under his belt, there would only be one side of this story.
