Any Cowboy Action Shooters out there?

Hey as the title says is there any Cowboy Action Shooters hanging out here on the Forum? I have been shooting here in Northern Nevada for a few years and it is the best shooting sport I have been involved in.

That is part of it LOL. Cowboy Action Shooting/SASS is 2 single action pistols, a pistol caliber lever action rifle and a double barrel or model 1897 pump shotgun. There is 3 clubs here in Northern Nevada. Two in Fernley the third in Carson.

I guess no then. I don't participate with any club and don't shoot a double barrel shotgun.

I bought a Henry .45LC Goldenboy, an Uberti #3 Topbreak Schofield w/5" barrel in .45LC and a 12ga 1887 Lever action all in preparation for doing some SASS shooting.
Then I started pricing the attire and realized I couldn't afford to compete so I sold everything but the Schofield cause that thing is badass...

I've been considering 3 G. I still need a shotgun. I'm looking at a Benelli M2. I have an AR with two 5.56 uppers one is a Bishop 3G the other is a Noveski hunter and I just ordered a 20" 6.5 Grendel for coyotes and deer. I also shoot a Kimber Custom II .45 on a full size 1911 Frame. Having a primitive range 10 minutes from my house is really convienent.

Every chance I get I try and to be like Rifleman and shoot a lever action from the hip.

44-40 is perfect. Most shooters use 38 Special in 357 Magnum guns. It is cheaper to load for and there is less recoil so in theory it is faster. I shoot classic cowboy and am mandated by the rules of my category to use a .40 or bigger bullet and a hammered shotgun. So I shoot 45 Long Colt. My wife shoots 38's in her pistols and 357 in her rifle.

I grew up in the great state of Maine. Where are you located there?

Does this count? Marlin's quality leaves a little to be desired, but I love this gun and cartridge.
