starting to think i have an m&p "problem"

So i finally found a platform that i really like that has the aftermarket support i wanted.

I REALLY like my FN's, but the aftermarket just wasn't there. So after trying lots of different guns, and owning several different guns, i finally decided the M&P is the platform i wanted as my "standardized" platform.

Currently working on getting them all the same. Apex triggers in all of them and all but the .40 are getting (or have) truglo sights.

The full sizers are getting TLR-1HL with the pressure pad... I would do surefires but that came down to a financial decision. Plus, I can't get a surefire on the compacts. and the idea was to keep everything as close to the same as possible.

Here's my carry setup on the 9c

so i have a full size 9, a full size police trade in .40 (since i have so much .40 stocked up), and 2 9c's.

just thought i'd share.

Nothing wrong with staying with a platform that works for you.

I still have the CM9 too. But that's a last resort for carry.

After taking a bunch of classes i realized if i ever have to fight for my life, i want as much of the odds stacked in my favor as possible.

I fail to see a problem in this thread.

Link to your trigger? I EDC a 45c and have been really happy with it.

I'm glad you've found a platform that works for you. M&Ps are really a mixed bag for me. I had a full size 9 that was the most inaccurate gun I've ever fired. I eventually sent it back to S&W and they replaced the entire upper, leaving only the original frame and FCG. It was better, but still sucked and was super ammo picky when it came to accuracy. It was the most comfortable gun I've ever held or shot, and the trigger was a miserable disaster that I could never get used to. I dumped it.

My buddy has exactly the same gun, full size 9, all factory. His shoots great and I'm as accurate with it as I am with anything. His brother has a 9c, and that shoots great too. I just got a dog. But between the problems I had and the sloppy construction on my example, I got turned off of the M&Ps. It was bad enough that I'm now weary of anything S&W. Their CS was good though. Hopefully my next experience will be better.

A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.

Pretty much same experience here. I just thought I needed more time behind the gun to get better with it. Picked up a cz one weekend cheap from the pawn shop and as they say the rest is history.

I shoot my sp01 way better without any other changes. Went from paper plate size groups at 20yards with the m&p to 50 with the cz

It seriously feels like cheating when I'm shooting the cz it's so easy now.

i was a DA/SA guy all the way until i started taking class and really working at my draw and fire. i'm all striker fired now...

and on a side note... i bought m&p number 5 today...

couldn't pass it up. 375 bucks with trijicon sights. looks almost brand new.

gonna tear it apart this weekend and get the trigger into it, and swap slides with the one from the other 9 so i can ditch the stupid writing on the side.
