Ruger gunsite Scout

Does anybody have one of these or have a honest review of it? Most internet reviews spout the same shit and never really tell you about it.

My local pawn shop has one and it looks like a good buy, but who knows.

Oh and the new toy I got was a m1917. The Ruger peeked my interest.

I find Chuck Hawks' reviews to be pretty good. He seems to be about as unbiased as anyone towards all his reviews of things that are cool.

I have a Ruger M77 Mark II .308 that this seems to be built from. I love shooting it and it shoots like a dream. I can only load up 4 shots. Won't accept a mag, which would be nice for sighting, etc.

I looked at it. But why get a short ass barrel to limit the greatness of that round.

Short barrel really doesn't bother me. Here in north east Texas, I will never be shooting at something farther than 200 yards. Not enough clearing before another group of trees or thick brush.

I would mostly be looking at trading in my AR and deer rifle for a rifle to handle both purposes good.
