Disconect TPMS reciver

Okay So I know about the AEV to make your psi to 0 and turn off the TPMS is there a poor mans way out. There has to be a reciver within the JK somewhere that can be disconected. Any one have a schematic?

The poor mans way is to build a small pressuared container out of PVC. Put all 4 sensors in there and pressurize it .. then stick it under a seat ...

I have read about that the canister would have to be in rotation. Like the tires are. But there has to be a reciver withing the JK some where... thnaks for the input

Not sure ... I have a late model Mustang and some guys use this trick for aftermarket wheels. I know the Ford TPMS is strapped to the wheel ... not part of the valve stem like I think the Jeep is.

The TPMS receiver is a parts of your wireless control module. If you were to disconnect this it would also interfere with your RKE and alarm system.

It should be in your column by the ignition cylinder.

The signals from the tire pressure sensors are picked up by the sentry key remote entry module (SKREEM). The SKREEM also is used by the remote door locks, remote start, and sentry key (ignition key security chip) systems so disabling it is not a good idea. The best solution so far has been to set the tire pressure threshold to zero.

Not really.

You'll get the added benifit of being able to reprogram the computer for the bigger tire size and gear ratio, so Your speedo is correct.
My AEV ProCal is one of the best things Ive bought for My JK!

You could also pull your tpms sensors and replace them for about 5 bucks for all four. Then you will get the two dings or whatever when you start up, and the clackly symbol.... Just ignore it.

Personal preference, if you have bigger tires or changed gears you really need the procal or similar to calibrate your speedo, since that has a Major impact on you jeeps driveability quality. (shift points, corrected speedo, etc.)

And around 120 shipped, its really one of the best mod values out there. Although I can understand being tight on cash, you gotta do what you gotta do.!

Has anyone tried to replace the Wireless control module (WCM) with one for a 2007 JK that is not setup for TPMS Communications?

Right, and it doesn't monitor the spare.

Quote:
The TPM System will continue to warn the driver of low
tire pressure as long as the condition exists, and will not
turn off until the tire pressure is at or above recommended
cold placard pressure. Once the “Tire Pressure
Monitoring Telltale Light” has been illuminated, the tire
pressure must be increased to the recommended cold
placard pressure in order for the “Tire Pressure Monitoring
Telltale Light” to be turned off. The system will
automatically update and the “Tire Pressure Monitoring
Telltale Light” will extinguish once the updated tire
pressures have been received. The vehicle may need to be
driven for up to 10 minutes above 15 mph (25 km/h) to
receive this information
..............

A tire pressure monitoring sensor is located in the spare
wheel if the vehicle is equipped with a matching full size
spare wheel and tire assembly. The matching full size
spare tire can be used in place of any of the four road
tires. A low spare tire will not cause the “Tire Pressure
Monitoring Telltale Light” to illuminate or the chime to
sound.

I disagree about the spare...I had my light come on. All tires were @ 37, except the spare @ 34. Brought it up to 37 and the light went away.

Not worth trying. For $68 for the part plus programming.
Besides they are the same through 09 and maybe 10.
Just spend the $140 for the Procal.
It is worth it.

Strange, I pulled that straight from the 2008 owners manual. <shrugs>

No it will not.
Unless you can get the canister to rotate as fast as the wheels.

It's a cheap test, if my sensors weren't still in my original wheels I would try just so we know for sure.

Although I've gotten so used to the light and "flat tire ding" that I might miss it. It's become almost a game with the wife and me. After leaving the house, we can predict at what point it will go off...ding....."oh we have a flat hahaha"........

Talking TPMS & ProCal

Set TPMS to '0' using ProCal the low pressure message does not come on but the RED Light still flickers. 2009 Wrangler.
