Alarm for the JK Help

Hi looking to get some kind of alrm for the JK so that when the doors are open it goes off has anybody installed one. What are the pros and cons and how does the siren sound after being in the mud???? thanks

Directed electronics makes most of the most popular alarms out there.

Get one with the DEI 508D proximity sensor. Many have done Viper alarms (DEI made) they seem to be happy with them. As to the siren, it just depends on how it gets mounted in your jeep. Sound doesn't travel well through mud...lol... just ask my horn.

Can someone post the details on how to add the DEI 508D unit to the factory alarm system on the JK jeeps.

also how is it working for you?

I'm almost 100% positive you can't had the 508D to the factory alarm system, you have to install a new alarm.
