Single DIN Install

Anyone used something like this to install a single DIN head unit?
anywhere to find other than Crutchfield? I havent had luck any of my usual places.

wondering what your thoughts are and if you have pics of your setup?

at first glance the little pocket area looks to be a great place for some in cab winch controls.

Get it from crutchfield. They will give you step by step
Instructions to put it in (not that it's hard) but its nice.

Yes, but there's just something about him. Something around the eyes, I don't know, reminds me of... me. No. I'm sure of it, I hate him.

my main reason is A) the little space below could be useful for control switches and B) cheaper units

I scored a Clarion FZ501 on clearance for 70.00 at Fry's electronics. That was my reason. The bezel I ordered doesn't have the pocket so it looks clean.

The lower space is somewhat useless...you could run some very small switches and make a front plate but the area is very thin... And anything else you put there just slides out when wheeling anyway ..

sure lmk.

can you tell me what the distance is of the opening? I would make a solid plate for it and then run one toggle and two momentary push buttons (12 volt guy stuff)

I have that in my rig. Been in over a year with no problems.
Running a nice SQ pioneer unit.
Sonicelectronixs.com should have them.
I'm not able to get to my jeep where I can measure the opening, but I can just slide my hand into it to get things out of it.

You smell that?

I have the same one with the pocket. Got it from Sonicelectronix when I ordered the rest of my stuff. It works good for stashing a wallet but for switches you would probably nee to turn them sideways. Ill go measure it for you.

I won a Pioneer unit in a raffle. I traded it to another guy for a $50 gift card to 4WD Hardware and it towards a Rigid Diffused for a Backup Light and some LCA skids. I think I made the right call

But, I can definitely see where that little cubby could be useful. My brother-in-law has a 2012 and I'm jealous of his storage spaces compared to my 2010...
