Arrow MOPAR Ambient Light Kit

Like the idea, but not the price of $280. You can probably do it yourself with LED's for under $50

The install, seems pretty wicked

280$ !!!!!!

I did the same thing for 40$...
Red LED lights in both footwells, some under the lower part of the stereo and some under the arm rest on the center console...

And with red LED, you dont affect your night vision...
For, you know, night rides...

Sorry for the krappy pics, it was pretty dark outside...

Yeah...
Yours look like 7$...

No but joking aside, didn't you do the footwells?

[Edit: Let me add that I did this for function, not looks... When you drop something on the floor you have 0 light...]

I have not done the foot wells yet.

I plan on adding a few more. Since as Alec pointed out, they are cheap.

I was thinking of doing the cup holders, inside the door handles and maybe the footwells. I think that would give just enough light to see the key things at night.

The JK is strangly dark inside.

If you power them from the orange wire with a grey stripe they dim with the other accessory lights too.

I used these from radioshack. I put two in each footwell and they work. I'll try to get a picture tonight if I remember

Where under the dash can you tap into the dimmer wire? Looking to install aux gauges and would like to have them dim with the dash lights

Thumbs up

I just did this same thing, but used the really thin LEDs from Radio Shack on the center portion of the dash - then I just need to add a few near the footwells. He's right ...there is NO light down there if you drop something when it's dark.

Thanks so much for the info on what wire to tap into for the dimming!
It just adds a little something extra to make my JK more 'mine'.
