Make sure to use a canbus interface for an aftermarket radio

Careful if you install an aftermarket radio be sure to install a can-bus interface,i always check my current draw before and after any electrical change on a vehicle.

With the radio unplug and no can bus module in the system i was reading a 0.8 amp draw and even after 2 hours was still reading the same reading. Then I tried with the can bus bypass module without the radio, first reading was 0.8 again but after 2 min dropped to 0.06 amp, same result with the radio plugged using the can bus interface.

I might be wrong but it seems to me the ECU keep trying to shut down the radio, itís not a big draw, but for people living in a colder place 0.8 could suck your battery dry after a certain time.

Winter is coming.
