Hella Supertone Horns

I got a set for Christmas. Does anyone have pictures of where they mounted them?

In front of the radiator would probably be a good spot. Lots of drillable metal to install them on.

I don't have any pics, and it is currently a blizzard out, but I put mine in front of the radiator. I bolted them to the top crossmember between the grill and the radiator, there are holes there that you can use that hold the light wire harness I believe. I can try to take a picture through the grill when the weather dies down if you want, just not sure you are going to see anything.

Hella Supertone Horns

BigMike-

I put in a set of PIAA horns soon after I brought my 2010 Rubi home because the Mopar horn was no way up to the same level as the factory horn in my 2003 Chevy Tahoe family sedan / plow truck. . .

I soldered a Y lead onto the factory positive and ran it to the front grill. I fashioned a mounting bracket from a piece of aluminum flat stock. Since I used aluminum, I also ran a grounding Y.

The PIAA horns are loud and effective!

Good luck with your mod!

I installed my PIAA horns by removing the factory Grill and drilling a set of holes to the inside of each headlight and mounted them. I just tapped into the horn wires and extended them to the PIAA lights. Very easy installation. Huge improvement.

Old Thread

Seems like most folks here are wiring these straight in without a relay. Is that true? Any issues with a 2nd horn vs just one?

I used a relay, stock wiring is too thin for me. Takes an extra 15 minutes maybe.
