Radio Problems WK Related

I bought a MyGig radio for my 2010 rubicon The 6-disk radio I took out of my rubicon ,I tried to put in my wifes 2010 Grand Cherokee and when i did it stared flashing all dash light and the radio would turn off and on Now I have a CEL on my WK Any ideas why it wont work guys ????????

I know nothing about the WK. Not knowing what version of radio you pulled out of the JK, I would have to guess that the JK's radio was canbus based, and the WK's may or may not be. There are different speeds of canbus, that could be one problem.

If I were you I would research what kind of radio the WK uses first, then try to see if the JK's radio will work there.

Im so confused I took a 6 disc out of my rubicon a 230 (REQ)
I think the wk had a single disk 130 (RES)

From jeeps website it should work

After hours of searching I found that I needed to put the radio in transport mode before removing it,what ever that means

Thanks for posting that, I was unaware of that mode. Is this what you did to put it in the mode?

For REQ radios, turn ignition to RUN and press the SET + SCAN buttons simultaneously to place the radio into transportation mode. The radio will display "Transportation" on the display within 5 seconds.

If so, how do you get it out of that mode once you installed it in the WK?

I dont know I am going to take it back out of the wk and put back in my Rubi and start over maby it will let me put it back in transportation mode
