Question amp wiring question.

ok, so im keeping the stock head unit. got my jl cleansweep and alpine pdx5 and im trying to figure out what wires i need so i can have everything together.

now how does the sub connection work? according to the schematics it uses the sub outs on the rear of the head unit... since i have a stock head unit how do i send the sub power to the amp?

the above is most likely irrelevant.

I am surprised that Alpine doesn't 'sum' the inputs... but, from reading the owners manual, the sub channel is discrete.

So... either use a 'Y' RCA input adaptor ( split the input on your front channel RCAs at the amp)
or
take back the cleansweep and get an OEM adaptor electronics that has a sub out.

Here are some options...

so if i were to go the Y adapter route...

i would put these into the cleansweep front RCA outs giving me four front cables going to the amp, LR fronts and LR subs?

the above is most likely irrelevant.

ok. i think i got that part down.

next question, the sub out on the pdx looks like the other four channels... it is just connected by the speaker wire, not rca. is there a single sided rca sub cable that has speaker wires on one end?

im getting my installation stuff from knukonceptz and didnt this option.

the above is most likely irrelevant.

No the sub out is direct speaker wire to the amp. Its usually 8 gauge speaker wire if i remember correctly. This runs directly to the sub...

Yes, but there's just something about him. Something around the eyes, I don't know, reminds me of... me. No. I'm sure of it, I hate him.

What sub do you have?

If your sub has RCA inputs, it's probably a powered sub.... which means you don't need an amp to run it.
