ipad backupcamera early stages

ok now that i use the ipad as my primary av setup in the jeep jk. I still wanted to have a backup camera. I think i found a way not only to have a backup camera but
front and sides and rear check the video.

SWEET!!

I love the idea of having an ipad instead of the stock radio cause I already use my ipod 99.9% of the time ( you guys that don't like it)

I've been looking into backup cameras and was planning on replacing my rear view mirror with a display, but this would be so much better!

How is the signal getting to the ipad? Wifi? Bluetooth? I like it and will definitely be installing an ipad into my JK. Great idea!

I understand using the router if you have multiple cameras. Couldn't you just use a usb webcam to get the signal to the wifi box if only using a single source. Just curious, because that video router is pricey.

Just thinking out loud...

No idea how you have done it but it's awesome. Is there an app for this? How are you getting video footage from an external camera onto the iPad?

if it is what i think it is that Axis piece (the grey box in the middle) converts analog cameras into an IP feed. the router would then make a local network and the iPad would simply open it up and view the local IP address. We install them in clients houses all the time so that their existing analog camera system can be viewed on crestron/control 4 touch panels.
