Factory OEM Radio Replacement Question

I have a 2012 JKU Sahara and the radio has started acting strange. I have audio if I use BT, phone or Sirus. However, when I switch it to AM or FM I do not have any audio. I checked the connections and they were all good. So I have been searching for a factory OEM replacement radio. The part number on my current radio is P05091198AB but I have not been able to locate one. The ones I have found match up except for the last three numbers and two alphanumeric IE:P05091*****. My question is will these other radios work or do I need to have an exact match?

Yes, I understand that pre-2012 do not have the antitheft option and the later ones do and that you need to have the VIN number to unlock it.

Well after much research I found that the part numbers need to match. There is one substitute part number but I was never able to get it. So I did find an exact part number match at factoryoemradio.com at a reasonable price. They gave the donor VIN number on the part, in an email and on their ad listing. Went to the jeep dealer and they gave my the code to unlock the radio.

For those of you who don't know how to enter the code you use the radio station buttons to put the numbers.

I hope your radio fixed the issue, on my 2011 similar problems surfaced, and it turned out to be the U connect module which runs Bluetooth. The dealer wanted 200 for the part and a software update, so I replaced everything with a Kenwood DD unit and bypassed the Jeeps Uconnect module, which handled the phone calls, etc. I did buy a majestro module to interface and all works well. However, my daughters Jeep will get a Pioneer DD with apple play, which is a much nicer interface.
