Trip Odometer in low range

I'd like to be able to use my trip odometer in low range, but my gauge only shows ESC OFF in that location when in low range. Is there a way to overcome this?

If you zero the trip meter, then put it in low and drive, the trip meter doesn't keep track and show distance when you take it back out of low?

Figure it would.

Touch the Zero button and the other message goes away. It will come back whenever you take the jeep out of park, but it still works on my 2008.
