odd headlamp issue

My jeep was parked in my driveway for a week while I was away. when I came back, my brights work, but my normal beams don't. I'm thinking the switch is bad on the stalk, but then I really don't know how they're wired. Is there a separate fuse for the lows and for the highs?

So odd, in fact, that it turned out to be both low beams were blown out. These were the $70 super bulbs. Back to stock I guess.

I had both low beams blow out at the same time once on a different (non-Jeep) vehicle. I thought it was as common as being hit by lightning. The guy at the parts store told me differently.

Years later, you're the only other person I've heard of it happening to... how very odd indeed.

I hear ya. I was marveling at the probability of this happening all day long.

I had some Osram 85/65 watt H4 bulbs where the low beams failed within a day of each other. I put in Silverstars because they were cheaper and much more available. I wasn't real happy with the output, but some light is better than no light. I have since replaced those with 55 watt HID lamps and all I can say is WOW! HID is the way to go. You can find decent Bi-Xenon HID light kits on the internet for way less than $200.
