Lost AEV ProCal... What to do?

I can't find it. Vehicle is a 2008 and I've got the TPMS threshold set and prob calibrated for tires. Anyway... Do I have to buy another one? Will I be able to override/ re-program the Jeep with a new ProCal or do I have bigger issues?

Right now I've got BAS/ ESP lights on and I need to get them off. Was going to use the ProCal to clear the code. Disconnecting the battery didn't clear it. Need to get these lights off. I already re-centered the steering ( drag-link adj). It was only off a hair.

I don't believe they are vin specific like with a superchips. I am only guessing but would seem you could just get another (buy or borrow). Maybe Mr. Nibbles offspring carried it off....🤤

Short answer is yes, you can get a new ProCal and reprogram it. We actually had 2 ProCals locked to the VIN of our Race Jeep when we were at an event and forgot to bring the original ProCal with us.

They are definitely locked to the VIN.

Yep all programmers are locked to a VIN. That way they can sell more. Just think if it wasn't, JKO would have one programmer and be sending it all over the country to people.

lol... I wonder who had it last?

Yea... I knew they were vin# specific but sounds like I can at least buy another one if mine doesn't show up. Funny... I've always had it in the glove-box so unless I took it out for some reason, it seems it was stolen... and as suggested, possibly by some of Big Nib's goons. It was after all in a bubble-wrapped pouch... perfect material for remodeling a late relative's rumpus room!

Thanks guys.

So my question would have to be if you use a new Procal and reprogram your Jeep, when you try and set it back to factory settings will it set it to the prior Procal settings or factory settings???

Also a good question, Jason. I was wondering that too since I've already got a couple settings established with my old ProCal. Thanks Jadmt for the answer.

I hate the thought of spending money ( that I don't have right now) to buy another one of these things but looks like I'm gonna have to if I can't find my old one.

Not really an update to this but doesn't look like replacing the ProCal is my main concern now that I've pulled up a U1418 code with the 3x on/ off method. Showing "implausible wheel distance signal"... anything from the clock-spring ( just replaced last year) to a speed sensor on the right side of the vehicle and some potential other things. Could be a bad hub bearing or in need of better alignment too. Anyway... ugh. Fuckin Jeeps! Thanks again, guys.

Stube, just for shits - & - giggles, plz ( if you haven't) remove glovebox from JK and look wedged-up in there or to the left and between the console plastic where it meets the carpet or liner. I've "lost" more than I can count on one hand down because of it hopping out of bucket glovebox and being retained in that general location.

I'll take another look around that area but I've scoured pretty much everywhere. I really think that it's possible that it might have been swiped by a successor to the family throne... if only for the little bubble-wrap pouch that the ProCal resided in... perfect nesting material and hell, the module itself would make a great coffee table or step-trainer. Maybe his widow has taken up aerobics?

thats cool. Seems you covered every area but as the “King of where-is-it?” , I just wanted to remind ya.

Funny, also is that my tuner resides w/in a bubble wrap envelope , too.

I have a used procal not being used. So used/unused. I tend to grab things priced well and ended up with a mini parts warehouse.

Son loves his tj but it would have been convenient if he had a jk since we have quite a stockpile of extra parts

Thanks so much! If they weren't vin specific ( assuming it's been used lol), I might take you up on that. Will have to go through and find out what's setting off this U1418 code then go from there. Thanks again... very much appreciated.
