Amp wiring questions

So I'm replacing my OEM speakers with Poly db's tomorrow. I have a Pioneer deck. I'm looking into adding a marine-grade amp, and had some questions.

First up, where are folks running their power wires through the firewall?

Next up, for my fellow mud hunters- where are you mounting your amp? Was thinking of a podium or stand, so it's off the floor, so I can still wash out the back with no worries.

Ideas welcome! Thanks- Mark W.

I mounted my amp upside down on the bottom of passenger seat. It's held on by some insanely strong zipties. I put the controls facing the rear so I can easily adjust it. It's about 4 inches off the floor so water isn't an issue. A friend of mine did the same thing and gave me the idea. It works out great.
Hope that helps.

Hmm- only problem is, I'm planning on going to a suspension seat over there- might cause issues- I'll look into it. Solid idea, just not sure if it'd interfere- Mark W.

I have two amps. One mounted under each front seat. I ran the wires thru the firewall (driver side).
If you pop the hood and look towards the right of the brake reservoir, you'll see a rubber grommet.
I uses a screwdriver w/some tape to push the wires thru.

I ran a wire through the firewall grommet near brake resevoir

Piece of cake. my amplifier is located below the steering column behind the dash. I tapped the accessory lug on the fusebox and ran the cable through the driver's side firewall grommet. I just punctured a hole with my jacknife. I removed the grommet before I made the hole.
