Aftermarket reverse wire too short? What type of wire

Hey all!

What type of wire do I need to get to extend this wire on my Kenwood? I was planning on running it to the passenger kicker to tap the reverse trigger for my backup cam

Thanks!

Looks to me like 20-18 gauge in the picture. You can always splice a bigger wire to it and be fine, it's splicing a smaller wire onto something that can be bad. Same current in a smaller wire = heat. I don't think you want your Jeep to catch fire the first time you throw it in reverse

Edit: 18 is thicker than 20, just in case you're wondering

Thanks a lot! Picked up 18 gauge hookup wire from radio shack (apparently they still exist). Going in tonight

I tapped into the wire in the driver-side kick panel. was pretty easy to access.
