Antenna mountings

Made some brackets from aluminum angle iron to fit the 29MHz and VHF antennas. In SA most 4x4 owners use the "old" AM 29Mhz radios, while the trend is now to move to the better 2m VHF band. So many of us got 2 radios and some 3, if you are a HAM ;-)
Have not seen any pics yet on mounting them there, but I think it will work well. The left side mounting can be used for the 29Mhz antenna or my HAM radio antenna (the 1 in the pic)
I put some double sided tape between body and bracket to secure it better and also prevent damaging paint behind it. The fixing screw still makes a good ground contact with body.

Left side - 29 or HAM:

How does the inductive reactance from the AM/FM antenna affect your setup in terms of SWR & radiation pattern?

I actually remove the FM antenna when using the 2way radios. I don't like the 2 antennas hitting each other when driving - for no other reason then the continues kling, klang, klong noises made by it.

When I don't use the 2way radios, I hook the antennas to the roof gutters to keep them from hitting my garage door when driving in and out. The garage door opens vertically, upwards.
