Rearview Camera

I keep forgetting to post stuff I do here and there and after my lockpick install I quickly moved to installing my 32 dollar little wonder from E-Bay (Not so much little) that has enough night time infa red to look far beyond the O.E.M Reverse lighting.

It peeks out dead center on the aft most part of the spare tire carrier bracket. I used about 2" of heavy gauge aluminium tubing (Thick wall stuff I had kicking about.) on each 3/8" bolts providing enough lift to get it up where it is.

Fishing the RCA and power through the tailgate is a daunting task. However there is an unused hole with an OEM blanker on the pass side of the tailgate that provides access inside. That with a rubber grommet and some blue silicone to match the surf and viola!

I've had the same camera for couple of years and its held up fine - good little addition!

mine used to look out through the tire like that but when I redid the carrier, that wont work anymore so I moved it down, you can see it peeking up over the hi-lift

I am still amazed that it is the SAME camera weather you pay 30 something or 100+ for it. The fact it is this good for 30 bucks is what makes it a wicked deal.

Is your IR range well past what your backup lights will do? In my driveway On my screen I can see the neighbor's garage door like it is 12 noon out. Hop out and try and see it and you would swear the camera is lying because you sure as hell do not even know a house is there, none the less a garage too

Really all you need are two things:
A "Lockpick" unit that you have heard so much about on the Forums, and a link and info can be found Here

Then all you have to do is get yourself a camera (Got mine off E-Bay) and let your imagination run with it. Like I was sayin' I will be adding two more so I can keep tabs on the front tires and rear if things ever get hairy enough to need em
