headlights flickered then off completely, then stereo..... HELP

2008 jk
Delta headlight replacements
factory touchscreen screen, nav system

ok, so driving down the road. lights flickered while on bright. then went black. both lights. had to switch down to regular but only fogs came on. the "city light" light stays in the headlight. worked fine since March, now messing up.

http://www.quadratec.com/products/97009_301.htm

drove straight home to fix the problem. got there in 5 minutes. switching lights from off - to reg- to high beam. but the lights never came on, the "city light" stayed on like it should.

stereo volume knob then froze, but no volume. i could still click stereo power on and off. i could touch and change stations and stuff. but no volume.

did a quick fuse check and all was fine.

Lights and Stereo
Onset - tonight after riding through a field (nothing hardcore)
Location - highway driving is when problem occurred
Duration - lights for first 5min then lights and stereo
Character - lights flickered, then off, then stereo locked up, then went blank, screens still lit and formatted but no text.
Alleviating/Aggravating - ????
Radiating (moving) - n/a
Timing - still going on, stereo did this once before but spontaneously fixed itself
Severity - gotta get fixed so i can drive at night

Do you have standard wattage bulbs? I've read that the CANbus controlled circuit will shut down the lights if it detects too much current being drawn.

STILL HEADLIGHT-LESS

i unhooked the delta's, undid battery connects, and then reconnected the factory lights, then battery.

now the STANDARD FACTORY lights do the same thing.

HELP, i have no money, and light-less since before the 4th of july.

The tipm is broken.

Not unusual and explains the stereo issue as well.

I tend to agree. Which is a huge bummer, because they're not cheap.

Any warranty left on your '08?

just got back from a fall break trip to cataloochee valley NC and some overlanding.

and well it was good for the soul and the jeep.

somehow!!! the lights now work.

i am guessing some sort of ground or loose connection got jarred right?

thanks for the ideas.

took a while to get this right.

any new thoughts now?

ps the stereo has been fine ever since the initial incident.
