Voltmeter gauge

So I want to put a voltage gauge in the JK. I don't want to wait until the idiot light comes on to tell me something is up.
Anyone done it?
Where should I tap for the wires for the volts and the lighting at night?

I for some reason feel obligated to give an opinion. So anyway, I'd probably just buy one of those 12v cig lighter voltmeters and save yourself some headache of finding a location to mount a very simple gauge. The battery light comes on when not charging and over charging, so it's fairly decent at what it does. If you want an actual reading, I'd just run a cig lighter voltmeter on the left cig lighter (12v key on power) and call it a day. Will do the same job as any gauge, painless, and out of the way..Just my opinion!

Have you figured where to put your gauge?

for the lighting - the orange w/ grey stripe going to the AC controls in the center stack will work - as for voltage sensing, I'd go straight to the battery to avoid canbus interference ie -pulse width modulation or whatever else it throws at whatever circuit you pick
