Stock stereo wiring q's

I'm working on building a cage and will be losing the front dash speakers so I'm thinking about swapping them out for a better 2-way speaker and moving them to the rear of the cage. My question is (and I haven't torn into the dash yet), if I extend the wiring from the dash speaker will it be full-signal or is there a crossover at the amp that splits the signal to the dash and above-dash tweeter? Thanks for the help.
