Angry Lets Try Again-Woodpeckers

For some reason the thread I posted is closed, so let's try again...2011 JK Sport...when I open either of the doors it sounds like a woodpecker under the dash. It also happens when I push the heating/A/C temp control. The sound lasts only a few seconds but is annoying. Anybody heard of this before?

Only thing I can think of that moves in that area on my '11 jkuu that could possibly have a noise making option during door action or heater enabling would be the grilled door & baffle where the cabin air cleaning filters ( yes; two of them required - thanks Chrysler MOPAR )
Reside.....I can hear this vent baffle open when doors open and after they close there's an incremental time of about 1min to 3min where they seal for whatever reason ( you have to kinda 'race ' this closing action when changingvthe cabin air filters is how I first realized this ),othwise you can't install the replacement cabin air filters ....
I digress ; I have heard this same when the heater was used of course ....
Check that you've not allowed some object or tool to bounce around within the bottom of your glovebox that is sticking past edge of glovebox & raking across the grill or being moved by that filter baffle you can better see in this picture I took off Google ...
Not saying that's your issue but only thing I can think of that MIGHT be a culprit

Yup,behind the grill doors that white thing moves up and down to seal the path of air within the cabin so it passes across the filters .....

I have the same thing in my Nissan titan. It started a few months ago. I understand there are small motors that operate flaps or doors under the dash that control the air flow from defrosting to floor heat. The gears in those mechanism get messed up and that noise is the gears jumping over the teeth because the doors are jacked up. Repairs will require completely removing the dash...........

^ FTFY. Nucleophile FTW 'cause it sounds much better than the way I tried to explain what was goin' on....heh.
thnks.
OP: fwiw, I sometimes can fix jumping plastic gears a bit easier than metal on crap like this; might be worth a shot. So it is jumped teeth due to an obstruction or something jamming and causing it to slip a few ? I'm betting someone could correct that but if this thing is under warranty ......you can take it in ......and let other people touch your Jeep....* shiver*.......

Under dash noise

Last week, I was doing wiring with the glove box removed for an extended time I could visibly see the air mix door moving, which was the source of one of the two noises. I do not think that any gears were jammed.

Note that mine just makes sounds similar to a CD loading, not a "woodpecker" sound, like jammed gears.
