sPOD installed

Well I just got here in Nevada, yesterday and started installing my sPOD

I had to disassemble my existing sw/relay sys and reroute all the cables/wires and remount the CB

Then I had to remove the drivers side Rockhard rollcage assembly and the dash bar--the whole damn job took me about 10 hrs

The sPOD parts were perfect, but the rest of my crap took a long time, anyway

It works PERFECT

Really is great equipt and super well made, just like aircraft ready !!

I'm definitely gonna order one of these from that crazy John, but I'm not gonna do the install myself.

I'm gonna let the pros do it.

I just saw an install done at Jeep Beach. If you need assistance I can get you in touch with the right people to give you a hand. Damn, Rotor you beat me to it. I agree to let the experts do the install. That way you could sit back and learn a thing or two...

Yea, like I said, the instructions are pretty simple, but I'd love to have that pro help me !!!

Mine was not quite like the instructions, because my rubicon has a different firewall access, than the one in the info and actually is even better

I also cut a hole behind the swbd, in the windshield top trim,to better access the connector/harness

Beautiful sys !!!

I hate to ask, but what drain plug? I just installed mine a couple of weeks ago and don't remeber installing a drain plug.

Heh Heh, yea the actual sPOD sys is easy to install, my additional time was in rerouting all my previous cables and harness's

I had to disassemble the drivers side of the Rockhard cage, to get to the firewall harness/feedthru, so my time was longer than just the sPOD install !!

Installed mine today. What a great company with amazing customer support! John answered all my questions and ensured I had everything to the install the way I wanted to!

This is wiring for dummies!

I went with all green switches as John said they were the dimmest at night.

Does anyone have pictures of the source showing how I would run my accessorie wires to it, IE a fog light.

Looking into getting this, just want a clearer idea of how the wiring for accessories go to the source.

On my blog, I've got some pictures of the unit being installed but basically, you've got a positive and a negative leads that come straight from the SPOD unit and get connected directly to your battery. Then the fog lights or any accessories get installed to their positive and negative location on the opposite side of the SPOD. It's VERY simple once you see it. I don't have a pic, but you just run your positive and negative wires to it. That's it. no relays needed. They are built into the Source. Easy as pie.

Yea I understand that much. Are the terminals either on the left or right what the accessorie wires get run to? If I am assuming correctly I like it.

Yes. In the pic on the right side will be your accessories, (6) total.
