Firstly great site
I had the clockspring play up on my 2008 jk Wrangler and was having the airbag light come on which I discovered was a common issue and was due to the internal flex ribbon cable fracturing. in Australia they wanted 1k+ to fix it so I been a electrical tech decided to play on my day off.. I fixed the ribbon cable by soldering a very small amount of silver solder and folded it over with a cut piece of heatshrink around it so it couldn't rub, where I folded it was under a clip close to the end so it will never flex again right at the end. In doing this I had to take apart the back also to remove the internals and made a big stupid mistake.
Their are 2 gears in the back of the clockspring which read the position of the steering for Esp/Bas ect and have to be correct otherwise readings will be incorrect.
Here is my issue when I opened mine in a stpid daze I unscrewed the gear and went to get a water, came back picked it up and the small gear fell out!!
I cant find anything on the net in regards to placement for this gear hoping someone has an old clock spring for a jk and can unclip the back and send me a pic with it would all the way to the left
All help is appreciated and please excuse my pronunciations my bad
