Wiring fog lights to work with the low beams on a non fog light JK.

My wife's JK did not come with the fog light option. I bought the delt kit from q-tec and a used fog light bumper and installed them in the Jeep.

The lights work grea but in VA they must turn off when your high beams turn on or they do not pass inspection. I need to find a way to make this happen.

Is there a way to tie into the facory wiring before it hits the headlights that will allow my aftermarket fog lights to work like factory?

Also I am not very electrical savy, I needed help wiring the fog lights and they were a very basic kit.

Thanks,

Greg

The simplest way would be to obtain another relay and connect the N/C contacts inline with the fog light relay coil. Then wire the new relay coil to one of the high beam lamp wires. That way you are dealing only with low current stuff. You will probably have to add a cap across the new relay coil wires so it doesn't buzz since you are using the PWM signal from the high beams to activate it. I can draw it out if need be later tonight.

Seeing a wiring diagram would help. Greatly appreciate it. You can send it to me at [email protected].

I also contacted Delta and they sent me a possible solution too. They suggested to splice their blue switch wire into the the factory wires coming from the headlight switch.
