Another cobra 75 ?

Do you need the external speaker to hear someone talking to you or can you hear them through the microphone handset.

Everything plays through the hand held mic/transmitter

Speaker is not necessary.

But makes the sound quality much better and much louder with a speaker. The speaker on the 75 isn't loud enough to hear while going down the road unless all windows are up. Top off, forget it. You can pick up a speaker for about 15 bucks at any truct stop.

I see you already ordered. You won't be disappointed with an external speaker. I debated installing it when I bought my 75, but I'm glad I went ahead and installed it.

My dog is worried about the economy because Alpo is up to 99˘ a can. That's almost $7.00 in dog money.

Mine isn't exactly a high tech mount. I used some adhesive backed velcro and mounted a couple strips on top of my speaker bar. Then put a couple strips on the speaker and stuck it on. Simple and cheap and easily removable. I thought about hanging the speaker off the speaker bar but didn't really want to drill holes in it, nor did I want something hanging down to smack. Besides, my dog probably would have busted it off by now if I mounted it that way.

It's black so you don't notice it's up there except you can see it sticking up when the top is off and you're standing outside the jeep, but it doesn't bother me.
